JUSTICE FOR GRACE

Target: Tipton County TN City Officials!
Sponsored by: Justice for Grace

“Hi all
We are not begging for funds. We are begging for media attention in Tipton County, TN.
If you have any media connections please forward this page to them.

Let’s help Grace receive coverage so her case does not get dismissed. It is my understanding that the DA for the 25th Judicial District (which includes Tipton County) does not want to deal with these “issues” and dismisses cruelty cases quite often. Without media attention this case, too, will most likely be dismissed.
Please share her story far and wide, facebook, twitter, email or word of mouth; any way to let the public know the suffering these animals endure.

Grace was barely living on the end of a chain at a Tipton County, Tn. residence. Another younger pup we call Faith was tied to a rope and chewed herself free. She was eating the soybeans out of the field nextdoor to survive. When picked up Thursday afternoon, the person asked “will I get my dogs back?”

They did not even have names for the two dogs. This is not uncommon in Tipton and Shelby County.

We call her Grace because it was the “Grace of God” that saved her. The younger one (we believe she is Grace’ daughter) we call Faith because she acts like any other 6 month old pup and has not given up faith in people.
They both are in the custody of the Tipton County Animal Shelter until Friday’s court date (10/21/11.) We are helping, along with Northgate Animal Hospital, with food and medicines.
Even though Grace and Faith have numerous health issues, right now I am only begging for justice for them and all the others suffering past and present.
If this case is dismissed, these people may regain custody of Grace and Faith.

Thank you”

Shortly after Linda Sutphin (president and founder of Dogs2ndChance) sent this plea out Friday she had to rush Grace to Northgate Animal Hospital. She was fading, and doing so rather quickly. While at Northgate Animal Hospital they did everything they could for her, last resort would be a blood transfusion to hopefully give her enough strength to eat and drink. The Doctor took Grace home for the night to monitor her and make sure everything was going smoothly, unfortunately in the late hours of the night Grace passed away. She died very warm, very
comfortable and NOT freezing cold at the end of a chain. She died knowing at least a dozen people cared about her. She died so that thousands of others will be saved. We will not let her death be in vain, we will fight for her. Her “owners” need to be punished to the FULLEST EXTENT of the law and no less. We are extremely tired of the nonchalant attitudes that our local government has concerning animal cruelty and we will not rest until justice is served.

Every year in America, over 50 million animals are tortured and killed in laboratories in the name of medical “research” and product “testing.” These hapless creatures are subjected to unbelievable cruelty - toxic injections; exposure to burning chemicals, acids, and inhalants; painful and lethal injections.
The need for strong animal-rights laws is as obvious as it is urgent. We have no excuse to continue to choose barbarism over technologically advanced methods.
We must stop animal testing.

The Future of Animal Welfare

Since the Queensland Society began in the late nineteenth century; over 1.5 million animals have been taken into its Shelters. From its earliest beginnings, the Society has worked to improve conditions for animals through legislation, education, provision of care for animals, and prosecutions.

For more than 80 years, RSPCA Qld has been located at Fairfield, but after nearly a century, its time to move to greener pastures.

The Animal Care Campus at Wacol is a purpose-built facility that has been in the making for years.

As one of the most unique facilities in the southern hemisphere, RSPCA Qld will be focusing on world-leading practices to further animal welfare.

The Campus will help 350,000 people, care for 50,000 animals and receive 100,000 visitors each year.

Our continued mission is to provide emergency response care, re-homing for surrendered animals, disaster recovery, treatment of injured animals, community training, public education, cruelty prevention, livestock care and wildlife services.

Australia, Put an End to Cruelty Against Chickens!

Target: Australia’s state animal welfare ministers
Sponsored by: C. Wolverton
KFC has thankfully put an end to misleading Australian commercials advertising free-roaming chickens, but the cruelty and false claims continue.Steggles, one of KFC’s leading chicken meat suppliers, claims to raise their chickens “in custom built chicken barns where they are free to roam and have access to food and water.” In reality, the chickens are packed densely into the barns, preventing them from pecking, roosting and stretching their wings as they would do in a natural environment. Major suppliers Turi Foods and the Australian Chicken Meat Federation raise their chickens similarly to Steggles, through their Websites display misleading photos of spacious farms.  Australia currently has no legal standard for animal husbandry products, nor an enforceable definition of the term “free to roam.” Please send a message to Australia’s state animal welfare ministers to request tighter standards for animal welfare and animal product advertising.

SOME EVIL PEOPLE DONT DESERVE TO WALK THE EARTH :-(

Dog playful, eating in recovery from crude amputation.

Onyx is making a remarkable recovery.
The 1-year-old male black lab mix was found last week at a home on the 3000 block of Weedpatch Highway. His owners allegedly cut off one of his back legs.
Kern County Animal Control officials said they owners likely tried an at-home amputation after the dog was hit by a car or injured in some other way. His severed leg was infested with maggots, and he suffered from apparent pelvic injuries. He was also dehydrated, with only muddy water to drink.
Wednesday, a week to the day the dog was rescued, Animal Control said Onyx is on the mend at a Southern California veternary hospital. He was taken out of town for surgery from an orthopedic specialist.
Onyx is eating on his own, he’s alert and even tried playing with a puppy next to him, Animal Control officials said. He’s going outside for potty time, and he tried to hop on his three legs.
A fund established for abused animals through the Friends of the Kern County Animal Shelters Foundation will pay for Onyx’s ongoing medical care, which is expected to cost thousands of dollars. Click here if you want to donate »
Meanwhile, Onyx’s owners, 51-year-old Alberto Castaneda and 59-year-old Maria Banuelos are facing charges of felony crimes against animals.

Freedom is priceless.: A sad day for Australia

Today is a sad day.

Two bills were voted down and denied that would’ve meant the end of the live animal export trade. For those of you who don’t know, Animals…
